We saw the overthrow of the governments in Libya and Egypt. Syria is attempting to do it right now. Is it possible that the same thing would have happened in Iraq if we had never gone in there in 2003? An attempt to overthrow Saddam? If so, would they have been successful or would Saddam have held on like Assad seems to be doing in Syria? Obviously we will never know since we went in there and ****ed it up and hindsight is 20/20.

Can't say it's that hard to imagine something like this still happening if we had not gone to war with them. All speculation and my opinion of course.

There's no chance Saddam would have gone quietly. I think it would have been more like Qaddafi becoming quiet after we bombed his tent city.

BBC is reporting that ISIS has shortened its name to IS, for "Islamic State". Keeping the murder and mayhem simple and direct.

 

They just captured the largest Christian city in northern Iraq. At least 100,000 Christians are fleeing towards Kurdish territory.
