I thought we stayed out of the Syrian conflict (as far as we know). And yet it's spilling over into Iraq.

Don't get me wrong I know the west has done damage in that region but let's not pretend the Sunni and Shia situation would be great if the west hadn't gotten involved.

I would be surprised to see how many % of Americans approve of us sending troops again to Iraq. The number has to be insanely low. This is something lefties and righties both agree on, we've gotta back each other up and make politicians realize we don't want to be involved again.

What lefties and righties agree on is that without another 9/11 type incident we'll never get enough volunteer force to go back in there.

Well, ISIS has a five year plan at least. A few things do become abundantly clear thanks to this map though.

1. ISIS sucks at cartography. That's a weak ass map.

2. ISIS has an extremely selective view of the history of the Ottoman Empire.

3. ISIS is terrible at creating realistically achievable five year plans. Something tells me the Balkans, Spain, and India aren't cool with this plan.

I have always disliked our Countrys' policy of "Policing the World."  But, I knew it was necessary to try to stabilize things elsewhere to grow our own economy.  The problem is that our Politicians have sold us out to the tune of a trillion-dollar deficit.

 

I'm quickly re-thinking my stance.  It's time we pulled-back and worked on our own issues domestically; borders, homeless, farming, etc.

 

I say let them solve their own clan-wars, with us backing Israel and watching-over the proceedings.  If ISIS is the real wave of Muslim-fundamentalists attempting to take-over the World, the rest of the World will have to respond as well.  I'm sick of us trying to solve everyone else's problems, and neglecting our own.
