He was, but it seemed completely uncharacteristic, but I guess we'll see how he responds.

 

My assumption is they saw it for what it was. He was incapable of holding on to the ball and then made a bad decision to boot. They were getting killed and if he was unable to even hold on to the ball, why keep him in there longer to kill his confidence.

 

So you use this as an opportunity to get your other highly touted freshman QB in the game for his first college action, ever. He comes in with no pressure on him but to move the ball and score whatever points he can get for them.

 

They were down by like 30 when they pulled him.

 

It was the right call.

Dykes has his work cut out for him. This is a huuuuuuge rebuild. I underestimated the degree to which the program was in deep crap. Dykes may very well turn out to be the answer, but Tedford absolutely drove the thing into the ground in all respects.

... and now Bigelow is third on the RB depth chart, behind true freshman Muhammad and Lasco. Muhammad really does look good given how crappy the OL has been.

Bigelow had a couple good runs last season other than that Dykes challenging his toughness and just hasnt been consistent. But the OL play doesn't help
