AL MVP race update

Trout's OPS is now within .008 of Davis'.

With the O's and Davis both slumping and in great danger of missing the post-season, Trout should now move ahead of Chris Davis into the 2nd spot.

Plus the O's and surging Halos are now only separated by 7 games in the standings. Runner up should be the worst case scenario for Trout.

Oh, and some guy name Cabrera has a 1.095 OPS for an almost certain post-season team, and is leading the AL in two of the three triple crown stats.

If Cabrera got hurt, it'd sting some..but they have Tuiasosopo who is having a pretty year.

 

If Davis got hurt..I'd say use Morse..but he's been awful..so maybe Valencia in his place? If you can play 3rd..you can play 1st. A 950ish ops certainly isn't bad.

 

If Trout got hurt...ummm..Cowgill? Yeah, that's a bit of a drop off.

Trout is Caucasian as is Chris Davis. Cabrera is Latino. I don't think that is changing anytime soon. No need for race updates.

Good point on the clutch performance. That's one of the few things he has yet to do. Get a walk off hit or homer.

Tigers have been up half a dozen games since May. How many meaningful games has Cabrera played in?
