Bad Actors and Actresses who get away with it

I think Brad Pitt is awesome.

Go watch him in 12 monkeys, Se7en and Fight Club.

Dude might be a heart throb or whatever but he does great movies.

Of course his tour de force roll was as Floyd in True Romance.

and Spy Game

Clooney can carry a film on his own.  I think he's underrated if anything.

Channing Tatum is Brad Pitt 2.0, so I'd put him in company with some baddies listed in here.

tatum was pretty stiff in whichever terrorists-take-over-the-white-house movie he was in.

That was such a fun movie. Not sure a lot of acting was going on in that one.  Felt more like some of the Altman movies where the cast is having fun while only going halfway into character, and the Coens are such wizards, they are able to make a film out of it.

I thought John Malkovich did a good job as usual. I actually think Clooney is a terrible actor with no range whatsoever, but he is in some good films, this being one of them. I remember the first time I saw this scene, I couldn't stop laughing:

Ghostbusters? Little Shop of Horrors? Strange Brew? I think he's hilarious.

Little Shop of Horrors was a complete abortion of a movie that held my interest for about the first 5-10 minutes. He was a minor character in Ghostbusters who added very little to the movie. Never saw Strange Brew. Honey I Shrunk the Kids? Yeesh.

Somebody please tell me that I never have to see Sarah Jessica Parker in another movie as long as I live. Sex and the City was decent because the writing was tight and it was a good ensemble cast (the series more so than the movies). It didn't hurt that we got to see tits fairly often (although never hers, because she has had it written into her contract for everything she has ever done that she would not do topless scenes or frontal nudity). She hasn't been believable as anything that I have seen other than Carrie Bradshaw. She isn't pretty, she won't strip and she can't act. See ya. Her name on the cast list alone is enough to put me off of a movie.

Somebody mentioned Cameron Diaz. Attractive, yes. Able to act, absolutely not. She and SJP are in about the same boat.

I've never heard a dude say this before.

I thought that it was a decent show, and the group worked well together. My understanding is that SJP wanted to quit and the others were prepared to keep doing the show. SJP wanted to work on movie projects - which have all sucked. I saw her in Smart People, and it was absolutely dreadful.

Sex in the City was on after Six Feet Under for awhile there when they were running on HBO.

I couldn't afford HBO, and would always go to my buddy's place for an hour to watch Six Fee Under.  He always looked tortured when his girlfriend (who later became his wife, then ex-wife) forced him to watch Sex and the City.

Sex and the City was mainly about the dialog between the four (their best moments seemed to be when the whole group was together). And then there was always the chance that one of them (but not SJP) would take her top off, making the whole episode worth wading through.

i thought enemy mine was a pretty decent flick.

please note that it was done before iron eagle.

whatever tank. I guess if your dad was shot down you wouldnt know how to steal an airplane with the help of your friends (including lamar from revenge of the nerds) to fly around the world and pull off what the military is either unable or unwilling to do, complete with a pretty badass soundtrack.

He did it alone....not like that gang of kids in the movie 'the rescue' (starring kevin dillon and skippy from family ties) that came out like 7 months later.

I have never seen Sex in the City, but I think it was on HBO, right? I'm going to try and help/offer an out and ask if the reason you liked it was because there was a lot of nudity in it or something (although I wouldn't want to see SJP nude)? I remember an ex-girlfriend that wanted me to watch that Girls Next Door playboy show. I was not very thrilled until she put in the un-censored DVD and I realized that there is a lot of nudity it in. I can't remember a single story or event that occurred on that show, but I bet I could pick Holly Madison's tits from some sort of glorious breast line-up.
