Yes. Simplistic. Degrees of murder? I don't believe in the death penalty but this is worth life in prison.

It's tragic, because the case is "He said/He's dead".  As has been said already, only Zimmerman knows exactly what happened.  The Judge has been completely out of order, and the Florida "Stand your Ground" self-defense law makes it seem like the trial was born out of the medias' frenzy.

I've seen photos and read plenty from both sides to paint both Zimmerman and Martin as Angels or Devils, but Zimmerman should be held accountable in some way.  And absolutely never hold another firearm again.

 

Yeah. This, to me, is the biggest reason he needs to be convicted of some kind of a felony.

Innocent Criminally, Guilty Civilly

This is the outcome I expected from the beginning. Manslaughter is probably the appropriate charge but could see an acquittal based on how poorly the case was handled from the prosecutions POV in trial. 

 

I never expected the "stand your ground" motion to go through (despite the prior hype about it) so Zimmerman won't be shielded from civil liability after this trial is over.

So the jury asked for clarification on what is manslaughter.  To me, that says innocent on second degree, and they are still debating manslaughter.

Can't believe this. I agree with the state, in that the injuries Zimmerman had to him didn't seem life threatening. But, I guess it's all circumstance and proof of that, which unless there are witnesses and/or video of the incident, no one except Zimmerman can ever know the truth. And that's not enough to send someone to prison.

Imagine how angry you folks would be that wanted Zimmerman hanged from a tree if the jury would have been 6 white men.  Instead it was 6 women.

 

Get over it.  The prosecution did a poor job (I'm told) and there was only circumstantial evidence.
