What does Ohtani deal mean for Trout?

Trout has been mostly quiet. 

Does he push to get out now?
Do the Angels try to nudge him out?
Is there any value in him staying?

Do you expect him here in a Halos uniform at the start of next season?

I hope Mike sits down with Arte and Perry to talk about the future. Maybe it is time for Trout to move on but that will totally up to him. I'm curious to see what other additions halos make.

It means nothing. His contract is untradeable based on his inability to stay on the field. If I was Arte I’d tell him exactly that. I wouldn’t pay a dime to move his contract.

Yep. A Trout trade makes sense for both parties, but that time isn't right now. Trout needs to show he can stay on the field because his trade value has taken a hit over the years when you combine that with his contract(really limits the list of suitors for him).

It means today what it meant yesterday. The Angels have and will always play second fiddle to the Dodgers. Everybody knows that. Arte knows it but he’s in no position to do anything about it. You can’t compete with that kind of money. If Mike Trout wanted to leave, he’d request a trade. He’s stated he wants to win and he wants it to be the Angels. Loyalty and trusting in your teammates and organization to do what it takes to build a winning team.

It means he needs to become comfortable with at least occasionally DH.

Trout's inability to stay healthy is a huge component why Angels haven't won and Ohtani left.

Hopefully big bounce back year for Trout. He will once again become face of Angels. Need another bat for protection for him. Baseball a funny game what if halos make playoffs and Dodgers do not. All the attention for Angels will not just be on one player next year. Maybe fun year watching young halo players develop. Angels not all gloom and doom in 2024.

To make that happen the Angels would have to eat part of that contract. There’s zero reason to pay any of it just to trade him.

I would ask whoever whatever to try to facilitate it, yes. 
Be honest, would you blame him for wanting out?  Would literally anyone in the game?
Were a laughing stock right now, theres no other way to put it.

I would blame him.  He signed his contract.  He is getting his money that signed for.

The whole “laughing stock” narrative is what you victims say about what others feel, grow up.  What Trout should be thinking is about how he can actually be healthy enough to help his team compete for an entire season. If he wants to be traded he has to perform to his contract to be tradeable.

He's going to be the only reason the Angels are able to sell season tickets.  They're going to market the s&*t out of him.

If he doesn't stay healthy, expect a fire sale on tickets, which are going to be on fire sale even if he's healthy.

All I know is that I appreciate Trout's loyalty to the Angels more than ever.

Personally, I hope he remains an Angel for life. That is very seldom seen by star players these days and it would hurt more to see him in another uniform than Ohtani. He gets to DH sometimes now although I do think the team should bring in JD Martinez on a two-year deal. He is still an effective hitter (.893 OPS, 134 OPS+ last season). Basically, swapping DHs with the Dodgers at a fraction of the cost next year.
