DiGiovanna Puts the issues the past 8 weeks squarely on the Offense. The pitching has slipped a bit, but the offense has basically cratered, due to poor strikeouts among other things. The offense has a .824 OPS in the first three spots, despite Trout and Ohtani's struggle in the losing streak, and Ward's struggled the past two months too. Walsh has been terrible in July, and not great in June Either. Stassi, same deal. Marsh, Same deal.

12-36 from May 25 through July 17th, is frankly, terrible. It's a .250 Winning Percentage. Yes the 14 game losing streak sucks, but they've gone 12-22 since, and that's a .353 Winning Percentage which is also terrible.

Nevin is not going to get the job and they probably can't rally to make the playoffs unless they somehow went on like a 15 or 20 game winning streak, starting Friday night.

What if they start Saturday night or Sunday afternoon?

Kevin could get the job if he gets them back to .500 with a big winning streak, but it has to be soon, they have to go 8-2 or better in their next 10 before the deadline, or they'll move pieces for prospects.

And you know this, how?

Just looking at the infield it's pretty clear why we're terrible.

3B---we all hoped SOMETHING from Rendon and we got nothing.

SS- we hoped the rest of the infield would be solid to warrant an inexpensive good fielding SS.

2B-Fletcher would hopefully going to rebound and do better at 2B than SS.

1B-Walsh, an all-star, regressed big-time

C- Stassi has been meh at best

Essentially the competition for SS became the starting infield.

Rengifo has actually been a bright spot lately.

you're being obtuse. you know what context he was implying.

he's almost certainly right in most plausible scenarios. it's extremely difficult to imagine nevin gets the permanent job or the coaches keep their jobs in the offseason at the rate they are performing. the only thing that might change that liklihood is a significant winning streak and/or, at the very least, combined with a significantly higher winning percentage. if we have to spell out every single comment made on a message board, then every post is a four paragraph brick and nobody wants to read that.

It's funny how we expected the offense to be the team's biggest strength. Seems they always do the opposite. Every year.

So I'm not expecting anything again. Ever.

congrats, kid. you just made it to the show. you're a big leaguer now. expectations are what keeps us in the minor leagues. just be happy to be a part of the ballclub, and the good lord willing everything will work out. keep your shower sandals clean until you win 20.

Actually, I was being a jerk.

Sometimes people post their opinions as if they're facts when they're not.  Sometimes, I get tired of it.  In this case, I shouldn't have reacted at all.  I often post comments or react in a way to make light of things... to lighten the mood if you will and sometimes I end up just being a jerk.

I’ll just say this: if the Angels do move on from Nevin after the season, Arte better let Perry have full autonomy over the manager.

If he isn’t gonna get full autonomy, just fire Perry now and bring in a new GM who you will give full autonomy for a manager to.

The GM and Manager need to be fully on the same page.
