Could be that he wanted to be the main man. On the M's he's the leader of the pitching staff, on the Angels he's a no3 behind Syndergaard and Ohtani.

He would not…he won the Cy last year. Easily our #1.

I think the Mariners just made a strong move and he had enough interest and motivation to lock it up. I do think the Angels either dragged ass here or didn’t anticipate it moving as fast as it did. Which makes me wonder how much they really wanted to prioritize him in the first place. So who knows.

No #%$@ the Angels..

This is like Reagins showing up late to the winter meetings.  If a team's front office is going to spout off left and right about how you will be interested in all the pitching, the least you think they would do is make a hard push for a guy you were supposedly in on.

Instead we are hearing how they were GONNA meet but sat back and let someone else slide in.

Props to the Ms.

Ok, f*** them both

So it’s November 29th and the guy they apparently had at the top of their list they hadn’t even met with yet?

Good lord these guys just don’t get it

That, for me, is the big letdown. Again, I want stroman over ray. But if ray was their target, and minasian had time to fly to nyc to take syndegaard to dinner, had time to waste offering scherzer a ton of money, etc etc, and we never even made an offer to our supposed top target...

It is not only ridiculous, but it leaves me with zero hope stroman is even in play.

Who knows how far the talks with the reds have gone, but if you cant even reach out to the easiest option (the wide open free agent), then wtf, over

Once again we have a bunch of people on the board who got excited about a few mediocre signings.

In the end it’s just not good enough. We needed to do something special this off-season and get a Syndergaard level upside gamble AND a proven ace(Ray/Scherzer).

For whatever the reason may be, they’ve proven time and time again they just can’t get it done.

will be a .500 team
