I don’t think they were counting on CRod…..After the season (or late in the season), I seem to recall Minasian saying he wouldn’t be ready to start next season…..they must have known what was up….

Ugh. I think at this point, I'm going to put him out of my mind as anything to rely on. If he becomes something, great, but if not...well, who is Chris Rodriguez?

Still, this is quite disappointing. And why is this coming out now? Angels medical staff on the ball, as usual. Would have liked this surgery done several months ago.

Both teams will need to replacement them for different reasons. I prefer the risk that CRod can return.

I haven't thought of him as a starter since his last injury but Minasian may have had him penciled in a Sandoval/Suarez/C-Rod 3/4/5 mix.  Hopefully this will lead to getting two 2/3 starters and help him make the decision not to spend big on SS so they can pay for Iglesias or other back end BP arms.

Does Chris Rod still count on 40 man roster. I know when season gets closer he will go on 60 day IL.

Honestly, this is the safest course of action.  They also need to find ONE role and have him build to that. It was a mistake to have brought him up and used him out of the pen knowing he's a bit of a red ass.

I’ve been saying not to put any faith in this guy.  Shit sucks.  But It’s not a secret or anything that he can’t stay healthy.  A fucked up back means everything is fucked up.
