He's an average player, at best, which is okay when you have proven hitters like Trout and Upton on your team. He's just filling in.

Actually, he is a below average player by every metric but he is having an amazing game. I'm rooting for him and maybe at 27/28 he can still develop.

According to what I have been told 725 OPS is the average among qualified hitters in the MLB.  

Like I said a couple days ago, hitting in baseball is a string of hot streaks followed by slumps. That's why we have "averages".
