Or switch to late innings relief, where he can still hit pretty much every day.

Ultimately, that may be the best path to continuing to do both, no more throwing more than 30-40 pitches in any game.

This has to be the last chance to pitch at least 100 innings as a starter.

Once again, it doesn't make sense for Ohtani to be a reliever on the same day he starts in the lineup. How/when would he warm up?
