Ok who is this dude? Had 10 K in 3.2 IP his first outing and now this

Interesting, it seem like Killam was projected to go anywhere between rounds 6-10, but a lat imjury pushed him back.

There really isn't much info avaiable on him.

Other  arm to keep an eye on are;

 Zach Linginfelter, he's another power arm in the system that starting in the Minors but projects to be a  reliever.

Chad Sykes, had the best ERa in all of college baseball, upside of a late-inning Reliever, and if healthy could move up the system quick.

Austin Warren could be in the Bullpen by the end of this year.

Brady and Kyle Tyler, Project to be 5s/long Relievers

about #2 - saw their game the other day and it looks like he's been back behind the plate for his career.  Blocked a few well.  pop times are still a WIP.  footwork is solid not great.  pitch calling and framing way better than I thought they'd be.  sets targets a bit too much over the plate for what I've seen from others but that's not a tough fix after some film.  Looks like he can be a solid backup or even an ok/mediocre starter if his bat plays.  Better than a Bemboom and maybe as good as a Jason Castro in his prime although that's probably a stretch.

I do wonder if at some point the Angels would go with Ward and Thaiss as their reserve catchers. You'd think their comparative offensive prowess would counteract their defensive deficiencies back there.

It's the same logic used with Kurt Suzuki. Not a good defensive catcher at this stage of his career but good enough offensively to make it work in a backup role.

The only difference I think, is that catchers need to be able to lead and mentor pitchers and you likely aren't getting that with Ward or Thaiss. But in a micro scenario, if the pitch calls are coming from the dugout, it shouldn't necessarily matter who is receiving the ball.

I really hope Marsh lights up AAA and tempts the Angels into calling him up in June sometime.

I like the idea of a Thaiss/Stassi platoon, if only for all the S's. When they do well as a combo, we can say That was Thaisstasstic! (Beat that, ettin).

AJ I can only beat it if they are running out that platoon in Houston and they are both knocking home runs out of the park, then it would be Matt Max, Beyond Astrodome.

that's emotion and excitement.  Not scripted lameness.

It's cool to see Tatis Jr doing it because he created it. Adell copying what Tatis Jr created is just whatever , Adell should try being original and create his own unique third base home run celebration , that would be fun to see.
