Stalin was a leftist. Did study political science, I'm guessing no. Hitler was the very definition of a far right fascist, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy. Him and Mussolini, and wanna be Trump.

Stalin wasn't really ideological so much as he took control of the existing power structure and used it to rule with an iron fist. When you get so far to the extremes it can be hard to see the differences.

After fighting hard to keep him from getting the nomination, too many within the GOP have sold their souls to this man, and they have endorsed the insanity that has been his presidency. Instead of calling him out when he is clearly wrong, at least publicly they have gone blindly along, even trying to justify the unjustifiable.

Exactly. I could have stuck with the party if they had stood up to him, but other than the occasional Mitt Romney, the party has acquiesced in everything Trump has said and done. Whether they are political whores, or just as evil as Trump, the result is the same.

I think this is mostly right.  My very broad and brief understanding is that Stalin and Lenin had significant idealogical clashes over the authority of the central party over the various republics that would make up the USSR.  Lenin I guess you could say was more interested in pursuing global revolution and the collectivization of all workers.  A more “pure” understanding of Marx.  He wanted the republics like Georgia and Ukraine to be ruled with their full consent.  Stalin on the other hand wanted to dominate the entire USSR and was not interested in global revolution.  Very much a more authoritarian brand.  Which of course we know was how he executed his rule.  When Lenin died Stalin got rid of Trotsky and turned the party apparatus into his instruments of enforcement.  The rest is history.

Patently false.   This isn’t something up for interpretation.  You are completely wrong.

If course the leftist historians will say that. Read his books and listen to his words from the start. Nationalism is about the only view he shared with right wing groups. Being to the right of communist doesn’t make you a righty. You can argue the dems of today have made rich white people the Jews. From socialized health care, hatred of the church , and weapons confiscation the modern day left shares a hell of a lot with the nazis

I enjoy going back and forth with you dude.  But seriously this is all fucking nonsense.  You don’t get to do revisionism because it’s inconvenient for you.  Hitler and his ideology is well documented and very clearly understood.  The Nazis were far right authoritarian psychopaths.   You don’t like it that he’s on your side of the spectrum.  Sorry.  That doesn’t make the historians leftist liars.

We were talking about Stalin a few posts up.  I’m not denying that he was on the left side of the spectrum.

Nazis practiced a warped version of Christianity.  Hitler described himself as a Christian.
