Trump is throwing some red meat at the crowd in Cincinnati tonight.

"China would love for us to have another president in a year-and-a-half so they can continue to rip off the United States. They would love someone like Slow Joe Biden who doesn't have any idea what the hell he's doing. Well, until there's a real deal, we will tax the hell out of China!"

So you would rather the US remain in the quagmire of Afghanistan in an unwinnable war spending billions and effectively doing nothing but putting troops in harm's way.

Just get out (I know it isn’t simple) but no more negotiating. Just leave.

The reason being is the Taliban won’t do a cease fire during these negotiations. Just the other day, two more U.S. serviceman died after being killed by an Afghan soldier, who of course infiltrated the Afghan security forces.

They don’t recognize the Afghan government and so it just seems there is is no point then.

Eighteen years and we did the best we could but it’s time to give it up.

It’s always a good idea to have a conversation but if it doesn’t quickly bear any fruit we need to GTFO. The war with Afghanistan has been ridiculous.

I believe Alexander the Great was the only military commander who actually conquered that area, and that didn't last long.

The British army was massacred almost to a man in 1842 while retreating from Afghanistan.

We know about the futility of the Russian war there. At least they had the good sense to finally get out.

This is totally pointless. Our soldiers are driving around the countryside getting blown up by roadside bombs or getting shot by Taliban infiltrators in the Afghan army. Total waste. The Taliban savages and their tribesmen ancestors have run that place for 2,500 years. So stupid and arrogant to think we can turn it into some kind of American-style democracy.

The failure in Afghanistan is to believe you can change the nation's tribal rule by conquering the established government in the larger cities and converting their legal system over. 

The actions in Afghanistan should have been brutal, quick and decisive military action that evened the scales of the attack on the US. That should have entailed about six months of activity with minimal troop deployment. After that a condemnation and warning to the region that this will not be tolerated and consequences will increase if it happened again. Then pull out completely. 

But dragging this out for so long shows the US to be too weak to take on this kind of enemy (politically, not militarily since there are solutions if you ignore collateral damage) and gives others the blueprint to run our country to bankruptcy prosecuting a never ending war. 

So at this point, Trump is doing the one thing Bush and Obama didn't have the balls to do and that is get the hell out by any means possible.
