Bud Black stressed getting hitters out in 4 pitches. Callaway was in the Angels organization during that time and seems to be bringing that same, throw strikes and don't waste pitches philosophy. Barria has not been wasting pitches. He has challenged with two strikes, he has used pitches to setup the batter but what he isn't doing is throwing a bunch of garbage and running up a bunch of 3-2 counts.

I love Terry questioning why Taylor Ward was drawing Jeff Mathis comps after he was drafted if only for the team to determine that he couldn't stick at catcher.

To be fair, the original lineup that was posted (which is the one I pasted into the first post in this thread) did have Ward in RF, not LF.

I have no evidence or inside knowledge but I suspect Doug White, although knowledgeable and helpful, was not ready to be in charge of a pitching staff.

They are updated in the booth, even Mota knew the change occurred. Terry has been slipping for years now. He really can't track pitches and often mixes up players in the field and at the plate.

The funniest thing about listening to Mota is not that he can't pronounce words, it's that he takes Spanish words and names and pronounces them like a non native Spanish speaker...    Dude pronounced Marquez name as "Markiss".   Cracks me up
