Hopefully he pitches like tonight for the Angels next season.

Will that be before or after his Tommy John surgery?

I'm beginning to have second thoughts about this guy.  He is going to be so overpaid it will be far worse than Pujols Part 2.

The opposite is more likely to be the case.  When you lose, you want to win. Angels don’t look as close as other options. OTOH, if he wins the WS, it’ll be slightly less of a consideration for his next team. He won’t have to worry about never winning one. If you want Cole to come to Anaheim, root for a Stros win.

Call me a liar all you want, but my friend that played with Gerrit at OLu, and is still friends with him today, said exactly this. He mentioned that it is by no means a lock that he comes here, but he would be more inclined to leave the Astros if they win it all. He is a fierce competitor.

For that reason, I am rooting for the Stros as well.

I miss your work at Central Maine Sports

I may be in the minority here but the whole Cole thing scares me now. His price is increasing daily and while we do need a front of the line starter, I worry that we'd get a couple excellent years then be stuck paying a pitcher $30M+ per year and getting mediocre performance and getting worse.
