And did you watch the game? Trumbo and Kendrick were struggling with RISP, not Trout.

Some of you guys are terrible. It wasn't "complete retardation" to call a squeeze there. It was a gamble, one of several a manager makes all game long, be it hit and run or stealing second or staying with a starter. If Aybar, OUR LEADOFF HITTER, gets a simple bunt down it works. Bunting is something a guy like Aybar, getting paid millions, should be able to do in his sleep.

 

Was Scioscia's handling of Vargas and Richards complete retardation, as well?

All of this is a result of Aybar being in the lead-off spot, which he clearly shouldn't be. A .279 OBP? It's almost like having Mathis battinglead-off. Add to that, Aybar bunts so often for base hits, teams sort of expect it. So, without any kind of deception, his bunts don't work as often as they should.

Having said that, Halos have won 6 games in a row. So, they shouldn't mess with the mojo.
