It's something I've been thinking about a lot. Upton is a perfectly solid MOTO bat. But he's almost perfectly mismatched with Trout, as his streakiness allows the opposing manager to take his chance with Justin. When he gets burned, it's likely to be for 2+ runs, but in a close game you don't care if you win by 1 or 5, but losing by 1 all the time stings. It's a weird fit due to Trout's consistency and Upton's lack thereof. Simmons might be a better fit behind Trout as weird as that sounds.

It would be nice if Upton was more “clutch”

it would be a lot nicer if the Angels didn’t have Ian Kinsler, Jefrey Marte/Luis Valbuena, Albert Pujols, and Kole Calhoun regularly in the line up.  

Oh and sometimes we get special guest appearances from Chris Young.

Guessing wrong on most acquisitions, and waay overpaying for Pujols, Hackilton, and now Upton
