I have mentioned this place a couple of times on here, but my friend from work retired young, and opened a Brewery/Tap House 2 years ago in Huntington Beach, and the place has been a success.  He was basically my mentor at work, just one helluva guy and he brews some amazing beers.  They were just recognized by yelp/ktla as one of the top 10 craft breweries in California.  It’s Flashpoint Brewing Co.  They are celebrating their 2nd anniversary on July 23rd, with some live music.  I will be there as a customer having a few beers, and then a few more.

I think I mentioned probably 16+ months ago in this thread that I went per your recommendation.  The first time we went there was some random wind/rain that overturned a few of the umbrellas outside so everyone had to move inside but luckily we already had a spot inside watching college football.  Went back a few months later and tried most of their beers.  I enjoyed it more than 4 sons between the price, beers and setup.  I'll definitely look to go back one of these days.

I think it is very close.

This was the first time I had seen it at the local Total wine so I bought it.

It makes me wonder if Pig sells out quicker than Pliny.

I can't imagine it would, but I don't live out there so.

I got to try Blind Pig from a growler filled at Hill Farmstead. The beer world is great.

I'll never understand this thought process other than it being dark and don't care enough to argue the point anymore. I find it to be one of the lightest and less filing beers, which is why I enjoy it and can consume way more than most beers. It's less carbonated, less filing, less bodied, and less abv.

3. Actually not a meal in a glass

Although Guinness is perceived as a heavy beer, a pint of the Irish champagne only contains around 879 kilojoules. A fair number if you're watching your energy intake, but a similar amount of kilojoules to most standard full-strength Aussie beers. At 4.2 per cent alcohol you'll be less shickered after a couple of Guinness rounds than you would if you were drinking VB, say, which weighs in at 4.9 per cent alcohol by volume.

Myth: Guinness is high in calories
Guinness, a stout-style brew, is known for its creamy texture, dark color, and rich, caramel-tinged flavor. That means it must be high in calories, right? Not so fast. A 12-ounce serving of Guinness sets you back 125 calories—just 15 more than the same serving of Bud Light. Alcohol is beer’s main calorie source, and since Guinness is just 4.2% ABV, it’s relatively low in calories. The dark color and sweetness come from small amounts of roasted barley used in the brewing process. And that thick, creamy texture? Most beers are carbonated with carbon dioxide, but Guinness uses a mix of CO2 and nitrogen. Nitrogen bubbles are smaller than CO2 bubbles, which produces a smoother “mouthfeel,” as beer nerds call it.

I was today years old when I found out alcohol content is where the calories come from. I prefer barrel strength bourbons so that explains the fat

Yeah, I stopped drinking craft beers many years ago for this reason. I still like a good bourbon every now and then, but I think 2oz is around 100 calories......and we all know none of us are pouring 2oz at home. That shit packs on real quick, too.

I usually just get a White Claw at 100 calories and 5% abv.

Guinness on tap is great and as mentioned even though the beer is dark it isn’t heavy. Never got into IPA’s or craft beer much and am fine with drinking whatever is available on the rare occasions when I do drink.  Last few times we went to Vegas for football we take a few packs of white claws or trulys, load them up into backpacks filled with ice and down those at the sportsbook. Less heartburn, calories and easier to drink than beer. Anyways happy 4th.

They make great stuff.

That sounds fun - what time is the party?
