Arte finally speaks

Recommended Posts

It doesn't matter what Arte says, people are going to believe whatever they want.

Preach it...   The people that want MS gone will say it's just posturing.  The people that want MS to stay will say its a vote of confidence.   Some will say this means Dipoto is the guy on the hot seat, others will argue that Arte is upset with the players.

Someone else said it and I agree with him, Arte likely isn't going to make any decisions until they have everyone on the field and playing.

Since it is not Scoscia's fault that the Angels are awful, close to last place and all of the high priced players aren't performing. Then it shouldn't be Scoscia fault if the team were good correct? Then his world series ring in 2002 really had nothing to do with Scoscia? So if this is the case, why even pay a manager big bucks and why does anybody care if Scoscia stays or is fired? I mean he doesn't do anything right? It's up the the players correct? So what's it matter? Bring in Ozzie Guillen right?

No way there's a midseason change.  They'd have to give up on the season first and Arte will never do that.  I'd say chances are 50/50 Sosh keeps his job as manager if they miss the playoffs again.

It really sounds like Arte still believes in Sosh and wants to continue to keep him around.  Arte should seriously start to consider having him take over Stoneman's position as Senior Advisor.  Stoneman's current job is to work with Arte, the GM, and baseball operations.  That position makes the most sense for someone with Sosh's level of influence inside an organization.

key qualifier: "right now"

more time to turn more pages and tip more caps

and since, as some around here profess, Scioscia isn't responsible for bad hitters, poor fielders, bad baserunners, turrible pitchers, and losing, then his contract should be extended indefinitely
