Beat me to it, I was going to start a Billy Eppler appreciation thread.

He has done a tremendous job, what a total 180 from all the shitty GMs the Angels had before him.

As soon as it started looking like it was Dipoto vs Eppler, I got a good feeling. Every indication (including this) is that Eppler is an incredibly persuasive dude. I'm more and more bullish on this team being a real contender in 2018 and beyond.

Eppler is the polar opposite of Dipoto. He works quietly behind the scenes, no negotiating in public, no moves out of desperation. A true pro and we are very lucky to have him and hopefully Arte rewards him with a nice extension.

Eppler is a true professional.  All those years of working at NYY with huge contracts, personalities, and media attention is paying dividends.

Eppler has been scouting Ohtani for many years  ... you can say he had a head start over most of the teams. 

Glad it was with the Angels!

Credit where credits due. Eppler has been stellar thus far as a gm. He’s helped build the farm back up to at least middle of the pack as well as some savvy trades like Simmons and Upton. He learned well from the evil empire.

Honestly, the farm building is the main part. And hopefully within the next year or two, were in a position where we can call for help (or trade).

But the simmons move is pretty freakin amazing. I thought it was dumb as hell at the time, but eppler (and company) smoked that trade.
