I get redirected to porn sites when I'm in the Hangout Forum on my apple products from time to time. FYI

Blame Obama!

Seriously? I've never seen a porn ad or redirected to a porn website from here or any forum on here. Hmmmm

Could be an internet cookie thing. Might want to clear all your cache and cookies, Adam.

Not just a bit annoying, but I've had to pull Angelswin.com from my tabs as a result.

It took me some time trying to figure out where the sounds were coming from. I was in the middle of conducting an interview the other day when the ad popped up. I didn't realize it at the time, but when I listened back, I had to shitcan the whole thing as a result.

I cannot have the ads running in the background when I'm doing work, and I cannot silence them because I need audio up and running.

Unfortunately that means that I won't be coming to Angelswin.com much at all until they are pulled.

Sorry Chuck, I understand the logic behind having them, but I just cannot afford to risk an ad popping up at an inopportune time again.

Let me know which ad it is and I'll see about removing it. I do have some control over some of the ads. I have not run across any video/audio ads in a while personally, but please PM me when you see one so I can see about getting rid of it.

Ads help pay for some of the expenses of the website so they're here to stay. But you'll find these types of ads on most sports websites so you might not want to have any tabs open when at work.

Thanks Chuck.

As far as the tabs at work are concerned, however, I normally have multiple tabs open at work since I have to be able to switch between online tabs to get my work done. I always left AngelsWin up because it was simply text and banners, which was cool. The other sports sites don't get that kind of love simply because of the reason you gave. The second I hear background audio, I hunt down the source and then 86 it. In fact, for a few days leading up to that experience, I had heard some random background stuff and ended up ditching nearly every open tab, with AngelsWin not being one of them because I had not had an issue. It was the interview that sent me searching the few remaining "must have" tabs to find the culprit, much to my surprise, being AW.

Again, I don't mind having the ads, as I completely understand the need for them. It was the audio itself that was the killer, though.

I do know that on many sites, there are video ads that run, but you need to either scroll over them or click on them in order for the audio to begin working (CNN.com is an example). Maybe that might be a solution?

When I'm on the mobile site and I try to click on a thread, it keeps taking me to the apple App Store to download some game.

Hmmmm, tried this on a test iPad and iPhone that I have for work and I'm not seeing that.

Try clearing your Safari Browser cache Katie.

I will be the first to admit, maybe it's me being a bit emotionally raw on this one, but there were two distinct threads about Mike that were merged into one that I think is a bit inappropriate.

The first was about Mike and the announcement that he was in the hospital and then the conversation that ensued subsequent to that.  The other was the announcement by my good friend HALOMVP about Mike's passing.

While they may have been superficially all about PercySquint, they were fundimentally about two different things, one being his hospitalization and the other... well, the other one.

Please, I would ask, if there were a time to lay off the over modding, this would be one.  Forcing the announcement by HALOMVP onto the 6th page, or some random page, seems at best disrespectful and at worst, like simply a case of someone who couldn't give a **** trying to over moderate something that doesn't need to be over moderated.

Again, it may be that I am too close to the situation for perspective, but it feels insanely insensitive to force those two into the same thread, thereby somehow diminishing the announcement of Mike's passing.

Moderators, please think about the potential impact of the fundamental message before you combine threads willy nilly.  It's insulting in this case, in the extreme.

It was probably an attempt to merge Jim's thread and the We all loved you thread together and someone got the titles mixed up. I noticed this morning the wrong two were combined when I was following a like and ended up in what looked like the wrong thread.  There is no undo that I know of to separate them, it is unfortunate.

Eric,

Sorry about that, this is my fault.

I attempted to merge your thread in the hangout with the one posted by HALOMVP yesterday and I ended up combining the two from the main forum. I wish I could undo it but I cannot. :(

Hey, I have been away for a while so there may have been a change on this -- did you guys do away with the AW.com GOD forum where we extended prayers and well wishes to others --

it was a source to get updates on the health condition of AW members and their family members -- I tried to check it tonight (because I had missed some of the earlier Percy news) and couldn't not locate forum........I know it wasn't getting a lot of traffic and I had posted there a few times just to bring a particular prayer thread up to date..........any news on this would be appreciated.

ALSO -- saw Chuck's post above about the merging of the two Percy threads and his comment has some merit -- but having said that -- you know it was very therapeutic to read the Percy thread from start to finish (which I and a lot of others have done now) and I cannot think of a greater tribute to Percy than the AW.com community love and support poured out in that thread........

So while I understand where Chuck is coming from on this, I also have to thank Eric for doing that because it really shows that this AW,com community is the best of the best.

Prayers to everyone out there in mourning this loss -- I met Percy a few times but was not close to him as, it is obvious, many here were.. Through Eric posting that entire thread -- I really feel their loss.  I don't know what Percy's family situation was/is -- when I spoke with him I got the impression he didn't have much family around and that AW.com was actually a big part of his family....and the posts on the thread over the past three plus months sure shows how true that is...........you're all the best.
