I was wondering if the Angels would be able to trade for Puig, but I'm sure the possibility was explored.  I don't know if the organization would be able to take him on, but they did take Escobar.

Puig-Meyer are similar. If you are Ok with one, you should be OK with the other and vice versa. 

However, neither is free. Despite how far Meyer had slipped his potential still meant he had a value and a cost (Santiago and taking Nolasco).

And Puig has an even higher value and cost, discounted though it may be. 

In other words, I'm sure the Angels are fine with the idea of Puig, but I still don't think they can afford him.
