  1. A couple of generations before just about all the pitchers used Byrd’s pump handle wind-up.
  2. Japanese import pitchers like Dice K, Tanaka, and I believe Yu Darvish had arm problems so the extra innings pitched might have contributed.
  3. The Angels have to address 2b at least, whether they get Stanton or not.
  4. Has anyone said that Albert is going to be strictly a DH from here on out?
  5. I think the Angels have the right hire in Eppler and his recommendations will give us the best possible team.
  6. I’m tickled pink that Upton is in place to fix LF for the foreseeable future. I have been reading on Twitter the past couple of days that the Angels are interested in Ian Kinsler at 2B. Haven’t read anything about 3B plans they might have. Of course Kinsler is over 35 so he’s just a temporary solution.
  7. I used that board 15 years and there were definitely a few people who had an agenda, even if it was just their own sense of self-importance. My only regret about it’s closing is that a few didn’t find their way here.
  8. Kinda depends on what he does. The Yankee teams of the 70’s traded for impact players who could contribute right away and won pennants in 76,81, and World Series in 77 and 78. I hope Eppler doesn’t go too far because I want balance and fan appeal but this approach has been taken before.
  9. I’ll say it has been a productive preaseason so far for the Angels. Upton alone fills a big hole in the outfield. Then previously they get a gold glove shortstop and a gold glove catcher. Maybe this is the latest trend to take on contracts at the end of the year. I’d still like to see the Angels make up their minds on Cron or Cowart, or move on.
