Who, if anyone, can beat Ken Griffey Jr.'s Hall of Fame vote record?

This is actually a good possibility.

He's almost certain to end his career top 10 in HR, RBI, and doubles. And he's got an outside shot at being in the top 5 in all those stats as well. Add in the fact that he'll likely end up well north of 3,000 hits and you've got one of the top 3 right handed hitters of all time.

One of the three writers not voting for Griffey Jr. said that he first checked that someone else didn't vote for Griffey Jr., so that he wouldn't be the only one not voting for him.    I guess that writer is one of those still believing in no first ballot inductions?

As one of the writers said.  You only have 10 votes.  And if you have 11-12 you think should be in the hall, are you going to vote for the guy that is surely to get in, or the guy that if you don't vote for, might get eliminated?

Of course I don't know if that's how the 3 voted.  But sometimes it's not as easy as you didn't vote for him, you are stoopid.

it'll be interesting to see what kind of voting results come in for trout and cabrerra. both should easily be above 95%, but we all know how things go with some of the morons who vote.

kershaw will get in easily, too, but he'll lost some first ballot votes because playoff kershaw has been decidedly less good than regular season kershaw.

harper will be another interesting one to watch.

i'm not sure yet about david ortiz. there's so much favorable sentimentality for him, and during his prime he always seemed to come up clutch at the right moments. but he's also mentioned in the mitchell report. i think he could get 95% of the vote or 50%, depending on how the writers are feeling and whether or not they change their stance on the PED users.
