Murphy is starting to grow on me, as he could slot in at 2B, 3B, 1B and maybe even LF if needed. Could sort of grow into a UT player depending on the team's needs each year.

At some point we've all got to accept that Albert is what he is: A league average first baseman making $25 million a year.

Navarro has no value other than as a late inning defensive replacement. He's the Daniel Robertson of 1st base.

To answer an earlier question, the surgery two years ago was minor surgery on his knee, not his foot.  I'm not really worried about any of this, more relieved that they diagnosed it, and found a way to treat it.  The guy knows how to rehab and work out, I have a lot of faith in him being able to recover, and in Cron being able to fill in.  I don't believe we need to overreact and make some silly signing that might be another albatross later in the season, and by the tone of the article it sounds like that's the approach Eppler will take.

Reading the article it sounds like they had some hope that the surgery might not have been necessary.  It also sounds like he will be pretty close to ready when the season begins.  Hey, I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once, LOL.
