  1. He looked serviceable before he was sent back to AAA. Now his BA and OBP are plummeting. His baserunning and fielding have started showing mistakes too. I'm still hopefully he'll round out to be a decent 4th outfielder from the bench, but he's not the long term answer as a starting LF.
  2. I'd also suggest providing a link to the original source material since it is copyrighted work.
  3. Cron is drawing more walks this year. His OBP is almost respectable, and his average has been trending up since his terrible April. He seems to have a slightly different plate approach that is leading to more walks and in the long-run a probably a better average, but it is coming at the expense of power. Seeing a lot of singles to right this year instead of gap doubles or home runs. At 1B with a bad glove or DH, he's a 0.5 WAR guy. Disappointing.
  4. Don't worry, I'm sure Garrett Richards and his doctors will give your opinion on the subject the consideration it is due.
  5. Just so we are clear... are you blaming Jerry Dipoto or are you blaming Tyler Skaggs for Skagg's need for TJS?
  6. Why are you excluding Calhoun? Santiago, Calhoun, and Simmons are the only valuable trade pieces left at this point. Calhoun is really the one with the combination of salary controlled years and production during his prime to bring back something worthwhile.
  7. Do you have any data besides the fact that the three are on the Angels' roster? Do you think the Angels' training staff approach blows out UCL's in 100 innings flat? Skaggs spent significant time in the Diamondbacks system before his injury in his first season on the Angels MLB roster (113 innings pitched with Angels.) Heaney is a product of the Marlin's farm system (111.2 innings pitched with Angels.) Your supposition seems unfounded.
  8. Perhaps he is shaving and it is just the wrong regions?
  9. Even if he clears waivers, he has to be offered back to his original team.
  10. So this thread has been started as just a sad troll job based on pitchers' wins and losses as a predictive or meaningful metric? Meh...
  11. Houston started off 2015 strong and faded badly down the stretch. They really only made the wildcard because the Angels were so awful in August. Hanging around .500 while the offense struggles isn't a terrible thing right now especially in the AL West.
  12. Chris Iannetta has been, and still is, a significantly better hitter than we saw last year. He may not torture us like like Mike Napoli, but I can definitely see him having some very good at-bats against the Angels over the next couple of seasons.
  13. Living in the past man... Remember when Buzzie Bavasi let Nolan Ryan go in free agency?
  14. That's why I like it here at AW. I racial and cultural sensitivity are always first-rate.
  15. Nava/Gentry will never be a Cowart/Kubitza though.
  16. Her seeming inability to ask a question beyond "How does it feel to get the win?"
  17. I've self-edited on posting to this one too. Adam LaRoche retired. I'm all for leaving him alone to begin a new phase in life. He should return the favor.
  18. Well Mahle has qualified for lifetime healthcare coverage, and he needs only 41 more days to vest in the pension plan.
