Honestly, congrats. I think he has a good core to work with. I really liked the heart that Perez, Johnny G and Calhoun showed over the course of the season. Oh, we also have that Mike Trout guy.

I'm not holding that against him but it is funny that Dipoto beat him out twice (2011 and 2015) and he also lost the Padres opportunity. He also passed on pursuing the Dbacks GM opening. At least he is sought after by numerous teams even though he was never the number one choice until today...and it almost feels like a default at that.

Unless he embraces modern ways of doing things and has his manager on-board to do the same, he's going to fail.  Relying on gut feelings and perception to make eight and nine-figure baseball decisions just isn't going to cut it anymore.

I'll wait to pass judgement after this offseason.  Nothing to improve this team means either Sosh is in charge, or Moreno's pocketbook is in charge.  Really he could go either way.  And I hope it's not 4th or 5th place.

We don't know that. Most of the people on here saying that assume the worst of the Angels whenever possible.

I like the vibe I get from Eppler ... I believe he's more of a eye test/chemistry guy ... rather than a full board saber metrics guy.
