The problem with anti-vaxxers and their stupidity is that there are some people who can't take vaccines because of already compromised immune systems. If everyone with a regular immune system took the vaccine, the compromised folks wouldn't be at risk. But because Karen Soccermom is an anti-vaxxer, her healthy kids are now susceptible to the virus and can pass it on to people who would get the vaccine but can't.

That and children get certain vaccines at certain ages. A newborn isn't given all their childhood vaccines the second they come out of the womb. Anti vaxxers can be selfish pricks.

Add to that, that vaccines aren't 100%.  They could be from 60% to 90%.  I think if you take both measles vaccines it gets you to 90%.  For the flu vaccine, it seems to be in the 20% range for me.  Last few years, without fail, I'd still get the flu even after the shot.

Well, I did have a really, really bad dry cough in early January, as well as some shortness of breath. The cough lasted almost an entire month.

It was either the flu, or.... something else. Probably the flu.
