Republicans have a way easier time in politics. Their base is middle-aged white religious folks.

The Dems have to juggle jews, gays, muslims, blacks, environmentalists, socialists, bankers... Impressive how they're able to get all those people to vote that way considering their collective interests typically don't mesh with the others'

Wasn't "Juggle Jews" the name of cal's garage band?

I think you're giving them too much credit.  Both sides sell their core base on the fact that they're looking out for them and will make their life better but really don't deliver.  Plenty of areas controlled by democrats and republicans have been promising x, y and z for decades, don't ever deliver and yet the votes stay the same.

Good for Newsom as I think this is a reasonable path given the work that's already been done. Scrapping it all together would be too much of a black eye and not really feasible.

Shall we discuss how some people think that the Christian Zionists are pawns?

Like how dudes are really pro-Mammograms.  Not because we support the entities behind the mams so much, but because we just love those boobs.

The boobs don’t care. They use our love for them to prop up their boob causes.

Republican Christians are the pervy dudes in this example.

So Adam, not all Jews are liberals, allegedly. Maybe Blarg can chime in.

Thanks, I will.

Your and idiot.

If it were in place and practical, people would use it.  But, as I said before, the west cost is really too big between cities for it to make sense.

LA to SD.  LA to Vegas.  Ok, maybe not LA to Vegas.  But the degens would love it.

Up North.  I guess SF to Sacramento.  SF to San Jose.

But LA to SF is too much of nothing in between.  For instance, while not exact.  380 miles between LA to SF, with just farmland.  There is 430 miles between Washington DC and Boston.  With Philadelphia and NYC in between.

Personally, I'd prefer a taco truck but that might do

When I worked at the women's correctional facility in North Las Vegas, the surrounding area had two or three salvage yards. Every day around 11:00 - 11:30, the Mexican food trucks would pull up for the workers. We would often buy lunch from them. The food was excellent.

Trump wants California to pay back billions for bullet train

Opportunity lost for Trump to really troll Calolfornia and say that he found his funding for his wall.

Of course, this wasn't unexpected.  An article months ago said that this would happen.  But it's new news for the libotards.

I have no doubts Trump is enjoying doing this after CA was one of the states that is suing over his declaring an emergency to build the wall.  That said considering how terrible the building of the train has gone so far I don't blame the feds for wanting the money back.  It's billions over budget, almost a decade behind schedule and Newsom has admitted it's a cluster**** and should be scaled back.  The money spent on the bullet train so far could have gone to better uses even though I'm sure it would have been mismanaged somewhere else just not to this degree because I don't know of too many other things that have.

And yes... by eradicate I mean kill them.

Just like that Alabama congressman was suggesting. I think you’re on to something!

Trump Smacks California by Cancelling $929 Million Grant for the Bullet Train

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-smacks-california-cancelling-929-220328921.html

Initially conceived as connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles with a high-speed train that would slash travel times and transform the state’s economy, the project has been beset by cost overruns and delays, causing its estimated price to balloon to $79 billion. Newsom, a Democrat who took office this year, said in February that the train as planned “would cost too much and take too long,” and he would focus on finishing roughly 170 miles of track already under construction in the Central Valley.

Lol. I’m in my thirties and I remember people talking about what a clusterf*ck this whole project was when I was a kid (like 10 or younger). It’s become like a running joke that has spanned most of my life thus far with pretty much zero good coming out of it and plenty of bad. Just a fantastic example of how to completely screw up a perfectly good idea/project.

Wait, I'm younger than you, and I'm pretty sure I was about 18 when it was first introduced.

I only know this, because as a stupid 18 year old, I voted yes on it. I thought it sounded cool.

Given the age at which I first remember hearing of it, it’s possible it was some other HSR project in California that just ended up going nowhere. I remember my dad complaining about how it was going to cost way more than they were estimating and would have so many legal/regulatory issues that it’d probably never get built. So maybe I’ve merged the two shit show HSR ideas into one in my head.

Just looked into it. The California High Speed Rail Authority was formed in 96, and apparently Jerry Brown was talking about it even earlier than that, which roughly fits that timeline. So I guess that’s what I remember people (my dad) being upset about then. Prop 1A just didn’t get passed until 2008.
