Sean 'not puffy' Newcomb is a beast.  I think he'll make about 8-10 starts at A ball and then get moved up.

Rutledge went 1-3 playing SS and also had and error.  Batting 9th btw.

Kubitza was in the three spot and Green lead off

Adam Wilk threw 5 shutout innings for SLC with 4k, 2bb, 1h.  Presumably a soft tossing lefty but had some fairly successful seasons in the minors.  Anyone have a scouting report?

i was surprised to see Brian Hernandez playing 3b for the travs with Cowart in high A.  (Hernandez was 3-4 with a double and a walk btw).  Was kinda hoping to see Towey get the lions share of reps there this year.

Tonight:

AAA

Heaney 7ip, 2h, 0er, 8k.

Green 2-4

Perez with a dinger

Rutledge 0-4 with another error playing SS.

AA

Towey 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 outfield assists

Myers, Stamets and some guy name Maggi with 2 hits each.

Travs stole four bases (myers with 2)

Albert Suarez (25yo minor league FA from the rays) held down the fort with 5ip and 2er (gave up 8h with only 2k.)

high A

baldoquin 0-1 with an error and looks like he got removed early from the game.  not sure why.

Bo Way 1-3, bb, sb

Alcantara 7ip, 4h, 1er, 2bb, 5k

A

Yacinich 3-5 with an rbi.

Michael Bolaski did a nice job.  5ip, 3h, 1er, 1bb, 4k.  Interesting prospect.  Converted to P last year.  not sure about his stuff.

Baldoquin took a fastball off the hand/wrist last night. No updates yet. Could be precautionary, and he's back today, could be a bruise and take a few days or it could be broken and take a couple months. Guess we'll find out in the coming days.

Translation: Out for career. Franchise over.
