Wade LeBlanc - Angels new secret weapon?

Let's face it...the Halos have one - UNO - starting pitcher. Mr. Weaver.

After that...err...ummm

C.J. the D.J.?

Hector the Gatorade Masher?

If the team had GRich and a totally healthy Shoe...I'd be singing a different tune. Maybe Wade is our new guy? 2 solid starts in a row...unlike Wilson and Santiago. Give me 5 innings....FIVE

Then it's

Grilli

Jepsen

Smith

Street

That'll do ya...425.ab.Hopper.Dennis.Hoosiers.012510.jpg

Leblanc will make the post season roster no matter what.  You'll need him on standby if Wilson or Santiago blow up early in games 2 or 3.  I'd also consider keeping Rucinski if Shoe isn't ready.  Then Rucinski becomes the standby guy and Leblanc may end up your game 4 starter if you are up in the series.  If you are down 1-2, then you go with Weave in game 4.  I have my concerns about Shoe being available at all this series.

Where did you hear that he's fine? I haven't seen any new information about his condition.

Scioscia said RHP Matt Shoemaker is "symptom-free" from a strained left oblique but won't pitch again in the regular season. He still needs to throw off a mound. "You don't want to jump over a step and risk setting yourself back," Scioscia said.

He also said it himself that hes fine and during the division clinching celebration he was fired up as if hes going out there for Game 2.  I see no reason why he wouldnt pitch if the postseason started tomorrow.  But theres still 10 days left until his start.

"Symptom free" means jack other than it doesn't hurt when not pitching. Oblique strains are tricky.

Bullpen sessions mean nothing. Burnett had a "fantastic" one and then was gone for good a couple days later. De La Rosa also looked great in the bullpen before exiting permanently.

yeah . . . the fact that he's still not ready to pitch and they're still uncertain if he'll be able to go for the playoffs . .  eesh, doesn't look good IMO. I'd be more surprised if he did pitch in the postseason at this point.

Shoemaker is fine.  Man you chicken littles need to give it a rest.

Didn't you write something about Garrett Anderson's eye is fine...when it swelled up, and Reggie Willits was our clean up vs. Boston?

Chicken Little or Voice of reason...?

Wilson's next clutch game will be his first. Check his career...His career is like the mood of a 13 year old girl....

Has there been any reason to suspect he wont pitch Game 2 of the division series?  He said it himself hes fine.  What more do you want?  All this overreaction is stupid when there is still 10 days before his next start.
