Season Three (3) of Miami Vice was a pretty good one.  The show took on a darker tone both thematically and visually.  Vice got much more serious with episodes such as "Shadow In the Dark" (my personal favorite from this season) or "Down for the Count," the later with a cameo by Don King. 

 

This 3rd season is also when the Daytona gets blown up, making way for the Ferrari Testarossa.  I missed the Daytona.  It was and is timeless.  It was a ten year old design when the show premiered, but the car still looks perfect in 2014, let alone 1984 (the 3rd season ran from '86-'87).

 

The premiere episode of Season 3 is called "When Irish Eyes" starring Liam Neeson and Paul Gleason, who was in the Breakfast Club.  I once got to hang out with Gleason once and he had fond memories of working on Vice and its casting director, Bonnie Timmerman.
