What's wrong with C.J. Wilson?

I missed the game today. I see he didn't make it out of the 4th (again). There has to be something wrong with as bad as he looks. I'm not sure why they would keep throwing him out there if he was injured.

I'm worried because players who have had one Tommy John surgery generally have a recurrence of injury, on average, four years after the initial surgery. Wilson had his surgery close to 7 years ago I believe. Yikes! Please be okay C.J.!!!!

CJ is one of the major reeasons (if not main) ive been recently posting about targetting a starter. Like fansince79 posted, if our rotation today is it going forward.....thats not gonna get it done.

I'm concerned about injury. I don't believe that he suddenly forgot how to pitch in his last several starts. Something is wrong.

It seems to be the breaking pitches that he is having the most trouble with. An injury would explain a lot of that.

To me, it feels like his issues are mental. He's seemed to go into stretches in the past where he tries to be too perfect and starts walking guys and throwing tons of pitches. He's best when he's in a hit the strike zone and pitch to contact mode. That's what this stretch feels like too.

Really hoping the All Star break can help fix his issues. He was averaging the most pitches per start up until his last 8 starts where he can't get out of the 4th..

All seriousness this is reminding me of 2012. We were one game back of the Rangers. We were leading in the WC race. Then our starting pitching (what was supposed to be a strength) completely tanked. CJ was an all star and Haren along with Santana couldn't be worse.

I don't think a trade for a starting pitcher is realistic as we don't have the trade pieces but this should be an area of concern.

My brother went to school with CJ's brother and talks to him occasionally - he said that around the time CJ started sucking someone in their family had a health issue.  I'm not sure if it's public knowledge or not so I won't spell out what but from what I understand it corresponds pretty well time-wise with his recent decline.  I'm not saying this is what's wrong for sure but it could certainly be a contributing factor.

he's the josh hamilton of pitchers.  looks like one of the best pitchers in MLB in one at bat, then looks like he belongs in A ball in the next.

if he's not hurt, then he will right the ship. all of this has happened before, and he's come back and pitched very well for very long stretches. i don't know if he's hurt and hope for the best, but you guys calling for him to be dfa'd are tripping. wilson is a very good starting pitcher who is struggling and we need him to get right. all the other talk is nincompoopery. that's right, nincompoopery.

p.s. That picture of his wife is terribly photo-shopped. I mean, clearly she's lovely but the whole waist-to-hip ratio is just false.
