Black Label is my go-to, I would love to try the Blue Label. Not worth the money IMO.

Nice father-in-law though.

oh yeah.

it's a blend of only whiskeys that were distilled during king george V reign, ie 1930-1936. most of which no longer exist. 

the main example is the famous islay malts from port ellen.

if you come across it, order a pour. it'll be triple digits but totally worth it.

bottles you can get from the company directly.

Yeah, I save my Blue Label for the special occasions. Try all 3 and save the one you like best. Price isn't everything

I'm enjoying a few pours after visiting this thread. Starting off with the very peaty Laphroaig before moving to Lagavulin. And I may finish the evening with a taste of Exclusive Cask Arran 16.

I was at the Costco in Fullerton on Saturday and they had it.

So I have been noticing that some Costco's are selling Angel's Envy for $39. That is one of the best bourbons out there and that price point, can't be beat. I love Costco for the good deals on their booze.

I was out of Makers. My Dad was aware of this when he went to Costco. 1 1.75 bottle was something like $38, but you could get two for $31/each. I've already blown through one of the two he bought me...

that place is great.

had some Oban 21 year, Macallan 25 year (I think) and the big boy: Macallan M when i was up there last summer. great place, talk to the workers they really know their stuff.

guarantee they will have blue label king george V too.

take your wife. there is a place across the street famous for having 1,000 bottles of liquor. ask for a cotton candy cosmopolitan, my wife loved it. 

as for the kids... let them go eat the gum off the nasty wall by pike's place market. will keep them busy for a whil.e

that place looks good to. doesn't have the high end stuff, but they have few choice whiskeys there.

speaking of whiskey: had some pappy in LV last month. good stuff. WAY overhyped (even the distillery agrees), but always very good. i think they are releasing next batch as i type.

there's a really nice little cheese shop by pike place market. quality stuff they make themselves. it's worth stopping in. it's called Beecher's handmade cheese shop.
