Not complaining here, but isn't it crazy that someone like Blanton can basically be fired for poor job performance and still make $8.5 million for not working for the next six months? Is there another industry that treats it's non-executive employees this way?

Yes, just become a CEO of an incredibly large company. You will make a lot more with your golden handshake.

When Washington Mutual was going under back in 2008, their last CEO (who was on the job less than a month) garnered at least $20 million for a few weeks' work.
