Here's an idea: Leave the wife at home, have the team give her free tickets and limo rides whenever they play out east. He can visit her during the ASB.

On a one year deal, why not? I mean, do all other players live right near the stadium and have their wives right near by (this is a serious question)?

By the way Scott, I do agree with you.  I think the Angels should sign Suk-min Yoon.  From what I've read, he is no Ryu, but he is a solid arm that could be had for a decent price.  Nothing but upside with the guy.

They could even still sign a guy like Hammel after signing Yoon for depth.

I imagine most players live near the stadium with their families during the season and live elsewhere during the offseason.

Do international players have options if they are signed? What if we signed Yoon and he looked like the 6th best pitcher behind Weaver,Wilson, Santiago, Richards and Skaggs and the BP wasn't an option, could we send him to the minors as a last resort?

Depends on his contract language... I doubt Boras would let that happen.

Pull a Arizona Diamondbacks with Randy Johnson and work with him here, rent an apartment or a beach house for him to stay while he pays for us, offer ground transportation for his family once his kids get out of school for the summer, and offer a fat one year deal. I like Burnett and think he could make us legitimate contenders. Hell I'll drive his family to California if it means him coming to Anaheim.

Burnett is a good starter and would be a solid #3 for the Angels. He fits them perfectly because they have 14-15 million to spend before hitting the luxury tax and would still have his contract as well as Blanton's 7.5 million and Wells' 21 million coming off the books just in time for a 2014/15 Free Agent class that is loaded with more quality starting pitchers than any in recent memory.

Burnett would be a perfect fit here.

If he is willing is make the move to the west coast, I would be all over Burnett. Having watched Burnett a few times last year and looking at the numbers, he would slot in perfectly as a #3.

If you have to overpay to get him on a 1 year deal, then you do it.

I just can't imagine he'd have any interest in the Halos.  They'd have to pony up a considerable amount of dough above the east coast teams near his home and family to make it worth his consideration.  Not to mention that a bunch of the east coast teams he'd be interested in also seem to have a need for him.
