Yeah I don't think there's any chance he ends up here. It sucks that he has the easy coast preference thing because it's such a crazy good fit.

Angels need a front of the rotation arm and don't have a ton of money to spend for one. Burnett is a 1 year option who could provide a 3.5 WAR season.

I just can't imagine he'd have any interest in the Halos.  They'd have to pony up a considerable amount of dough above the east coast teams near his home and family to make it worth his consideration.  Not to mention that a bunch of the east coast teams he'd be interested in also seem to have a need for him.

Like everyone else, I'm on board with him pitching here. And like most, I just don't see it happening. Too many obstacles to overcome. I would be beyond shocked to see Dipoto pulling off this acquisition.

Why does anyone want him?  He was a total wreck in NY.  Stay far away from him IMO.

 

Because with the $100,000,000+ we've flushed down the toilet the past 3 years on Wells, Pujols, & Hamilton, Arte should at least be willing to risk flushing another $10,000,000 down the toilet to see if Burnett can have an impact on our still mediocre starting rotation.

Well said. IMO the best argument against getting Burnett that I have seen in this thread.
