The Angels should sign him now while the market is slow. Offer him 5/75 and walk away. I feel that once Tanaka is posted Garza is going to be a part of a bidding war that could see him get 100 million.

With Kazmir getting 11 million a year, I think it is a lock that Garza gets 14-15 million a year.

 

5/70 - 5/75 is the max the Angels should offer.  If he can get more than that, kudos to Garza.

Garza would be overpaid but unfortunately he is looking like the best option right now. I could see him having 2 years similar to what CJ did in 2012, then maybe 2 Vargas-esque seasons followed by one shitty one.

I don't want him, but the Angels need pitching and he is probably the best option available outside of Tanaka. Arroyo is going to get 3 years and that is absurd. Colon would be Ok if he's the number 4 starter and nothing more.

Garza does seem like an ass hole I'm not sure Id really want him on the team. For the right price I could deal with it and for me that would be something like 3 or 4 years with a 12 mil AAV.

It would be great to get Garza.......at 4/60.  So I said yes, but what I think would be a reasonable contract for him is unreasonable. 

 

BTW, every time I see Anibal Sanchez listed among the leaders in some pitching category it makes me sad that we didn't make a run at him last year.
