I'd love to have a guy like Hudson if the idea is for him to be the number 5. If he's being relied on to give you 200+ good innings then we have a serious problem.

Hudson at 2 years for like 8 mill would be great when you have cans like Ervin Santana and Nolasco asking for 80+ mill. He'd be a solid number 5 and would probably be good to have in the clubhouse.

I agree, but that still leaves the Angels needing 2 more pitchers.

I agree with you there, my only point is if we're going to try and acquire a back end of the rotation starter via FA then he seems like the best deal. I'm all for trading for pitching help too. There's just really not a whole lot to lose by signing Hudson. But I definitely don't think we should sign him expecting him to pitch like a #3.

Maybe we can get him for a clemens type deal. He only has to pitch when we're in houston. God knows rhat would be a huge boost for us.
