It almost like it doesn't matter who else is around him.  This offense lives and dies by Trout.  That is why you might as well try to get as much pitching as you can for everyone else around him.  They are stuck with Pujols and Hamilton so if those guys end up performing, that is just gravy. 

 

That is why if you can get a Carlos Martinez (or any other club controlled potential #2) for Aybar, you have to consider it.  Martinez + Romine is likely better for the team than Aybar + Hansen at this point.  I am just not sure if other teams would consider giving up that much for Aybar.

We're making the teams that are ahead of the teams we're playing concerned that they're going to lose ground. That's the NEW "spoiler" role.
