Dice-K isn't the type of pitchers the Angels need. He has always had trouble going deep into games even when he was "good" because he nibbles so much. The Angels have no pen so they can't afford to give the pen more innings. They are better off signing guys like Vargas who throw a lot of innings (blood clots aside).
