Actually, Scioscia prefers to call it "Closer-by-platoon"

Angels manager Mike Scioscia indicated after Tuesday's loss to the Rangers that he could use a closer-by-committee moving forward. Frieri blew his second straight save Tuesday and has allowed eight runs on nine hits and four walks over his last four appearances. Sensing that his confidence "might be a little nicked right now," Scioscia said he'll try to play the matchups a bit more in the ninth inning for now. Dane De La Rosa is probably the best pickup for fantasy purposes. http://www.rotoworld.com/

Dane De La Rosa?  The guy who gave up the 3-run HR last night?  Yeah, that makes sense...

Well, just about everyone in the bullpen has been giving up runs of late. So it's pretty much different flavors of shit at the moment, unless.....

JOE BLANTON FOR CLOSER!

0 ER and only 1 hit as a reliever this year.

Who cares what we call it, we don't have a consistent closer so go with the match ups, not that those have favored us lately either. This year it doesn't matter who we put out there to close games, this season is done. I just hope that by next season we have pitchers in roles where they can excel. Sadly I think that requires signing a closer and probably overpaying to get one, whether its overpaying financially or in a trade.
