I think you're missing the point...     You're also forgetting I was for keeping Walden.   This move amounts to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

In all seriousness, not a deal to really get all up in arms about. They weren't netting much for Downs. This guy is 25, has strikeout ability. With RP, you never know how they'll end up. At least they got something rather than nothing, I guess

No, you are missing the point, a AAA pitcher that is just coming into his own is not bumping an extremely successful pitcher off the roster. So denigrating the guy the Angels traded for simply because he couldn't crack the Braves relief squad makes your argument all the more worthless.

True, I've soured on Dipoto after this season and am now thinking next year is make or break for him. He really made the pitching(starters and pen) worse than it was before

Fans need something to complain about. Downs didn't impress me that much this year.  He was a free agent at the end of the year so we weren't going to keep him anyway.

Downs was great this season.  He isn't needed with the season all but gone and him being a FA.
