Angels trade international money to Mets

It's a completely nonsensical move by this team. The players they got back are your classic "org depth" but I highly doubt either of them even reach it to the bigs or actually wear a Halos uni. Angels could have used that money in the international market, which they have neglected for too damn long now(helping to contribute to them having a poor farm system). Whatever though, nothing we can do as fans except shake our heads at what this FO is doing with this team

Talk about an over exaggeration, but what's new. It's a low risk trade and $360K won't get a lot with an international player.

Of course instead of possibly getting "not a lot", they got what is as far as we can tell, nothing.

Both guys are old for the level they're playing at, and not doing well.

Concepcion is a 23 year old corner OF who has yet to hit particularly well at any level and has yet to play anywhere higher than Low-A ball.

Perez is 22 years old and pitching out of the bullpen without success since coming over to the states(granted, only 20 something innings here). He's currently in Rookie Ball.

Sure one of those guys could turn out to be something just based on sheer luck, but neither one is a prospect, really.

The Mets will receive the Angels’ No. 2 slot value (the No. 51 overall slot), which carries a value of $360,500. The Mets now have an international bonus pool of $3,025,100, while the Angels’ pool drops to $1,633,200.

So the Angels didn't trade $360k, instead they traded their 51st pick in the international draft. Big deal...HUGE DEAL!!! FRANCHISE OVER!!!!!
