I’m going to guess he’s having the surgery, whatever it is, in Japan and decided to do it now. With the uncertainty of his pending free agency, he cleaned out his locker.

I'm sure that's all it is, but the fact that the comms team wasn't aware of this or didn't know how to address it last night is kinda embarrassing.
