We are legitimately the worst organization in all of sports at this point.

it’s a literal nightmare. Could never have imagined this in a million years in 2009/2010.

2010 draft is where the cracks started.

Cowart, Bedrosian, Clarke, Bolden, and Lindsey in the top 40 overall picks

That’s the best they could do?

One guy who had very limited MLB experience

One reliever who had one good season

Two guys who never even made it to AA

One guy who had a very small cup of coffee with another MLB team

The draft and international scouting  were the main cause of the organizations downturn.   Not Pujols. Not Hamilton. Not Rendon. Not trading Ohtani for prospects.

There was some bad luck along the way .  That didn't help.

The owner is far from great, but he's not the worst .

I blame the trainers and medical staff.

Ohtani had vanished. An evening came, and his locker was cleared out, his water bottle in the trash.  A few thoughtless people commented on his absence. On the next day nobody mentioned him. On the third day Nevin took a look at his roster. It looked almost exactly as it had looked before—nothing had been crossed out—but it was one name shorter. It was enough. Ohtani had ceased to exist: he had never existed.

This is my all time favorite comment ever.

Could it just be that he’s opted to have surgery and the team needs to formalize his consent before discussing his decision?

It could be that's the case and he offered the locker for his ir replacement

It could be worse.

I don't see Ohtani as the kind of guy that would storm out

We all have our breaking points

I’m not sure there’s any indication that he “stormed out.”  If he’s having surgery and won’t be back at the stadium this season, it would be logical to clear out the locker.

That being said, it seems as though this should have been coordinated in advance with the team and a statement issued.  The seeming lack of communication between Ohtani’s agent and the team is what concerns me.  But after seeing that guy’s recent press conference, my fears are somewhat eased.  The agent is a moron.  That was a horrible performance.
