His career OPS there is .935, barely above his overall career OPS of .922--and about 20 points below his OPS at Angel Stadium.

In the Texas lineup compared to Angel will boost that OPS. Ask yourself if you were Ohtani what lineup would you want to be. Seimen, Seager and Garcia in their prime. Young players White and Jung with Bochy your manager.

I'm not arguing that point. I'm just noting that there doesn't seem to be any real evidence that he loves hitting in that park, at least from an actual production standpoint.

Maybe it's because he's been facing great Rangers pitchers like Mike Foltynewicz and Jordan Lyles the past 6 years

Here's the basic Google Translate version. Seems to pretty much be saying that Moreno, Carpino, and Minasian met at the GM meetings to discuss Ohtani.

[MLB] Is there a strategy meeting for Shohei Ohtani to stay? Extremely unusual: Angels team owner Moreno appears at the GM meeting venue and discusses it.

[SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, U.S.] 6th (7th Japan time): The day before the general manager (GM) meeting attended by executives and agents from major league baseball teams, Angels owner Art Moreno and team president John Carpino meet. , GM Perry Minasian held a meeting at the venue.

The Angels' top management is holding an emergency meeting regarding the retention of pitcher Shohei Ohtani, who is the biggest highlight of this off-season free agency. It is unusual for owner Moreno and team president Carpino to appear at the venue of the meeting. The three of them, including GM Minasian, spent more than two hours talking in the morning at a restaurant in the venue, and after a detailed ``strategy meeting'' for the GM meeting, the GM saw Owner Moreno off to the parking lot and smiled. Moved around the venue.

Ohtani became a free agent for the first time on the 2nd (3rd). The Angels, which he played for until this season, had an exclusive negotiation period of 2 to 5 days, but after the deadline of 5:00 pm Eastern time (7:00 am Japan time on the 7th), Ohtani's team will begin contract negotiations with all major teams. becomes possible.

GM Minassian will be available for interviews on the 7th and 8th (8th and 9th) during the conference. All eyes will be on what he will say about Ohtani's departure.

Did they make this prediction in August and neglect to change it?

I would pay Ohtani $30 million a year, and give him $750k per start.  So if he starts 20 games he makes $45 million a season.  If he makes 30 starts (which he hasn’t done yet in his career and it is tough to do in a 6 man rotation) he will make $52.5 million.  A DH should not get $40 million a year, regardless of who he is.
