Don’t like losing Crow, but also thinking he may be injured (maybe for awhile?) so perhaps if he’s somewhat damaged goods it’s not too much of a loss.

Meh. Escobar seems another in the Drury mode: hits a few bombs, but poor contact and no walks. Oh, he's 34. Talk about a rental. 

I would rather have kept Crow and Marceaux and gone with Fletcher.

I  probably in the minority here, but personally, I like this trade. Escobar has pop, lots of it and can mash LHP. He makes it so that you don't absolutely have to play Jared Walsh unless he's hitting.

If deployed correctly, Escobar is a middle of the order bat. 

And as far as the prospects they gave up, at some point you have to see prospects for who they are and not become overly attached. Crow is back end starter or a middle reliever. Marceaux is a soft tossing lefty and a depth piece. Much as we like those guys, they're pretty common in the minor leagues. 

MInasian got a decently potent MLB bat for the league minimum and a couple depth pieces. Furthermore, if Escobar catches fire in the second half, he's got a 9 million dollar option the Angels could exercise if they wanted. 

It's a good trade for the Angels, I think.

Like this year, you pretty much are going to need a 3b option for next year, just can’t depend on Rendon…..keeping Escobar or re-signing Urshela are two options….
